About me
I moved from my home country, England, to Munich in South Germany about 25 years ago. I only intended to stay for two years to improve my German. However, I was fascinated by the beauty of the high mountains and lakes around Munich, and I loved the beautiful city itself so that I decided to make this place my home.
I studied colors at the Institute for Colors I.A.C.C. In Salzburg, Austria and after four years of study achieved my diploma as a color consultant for architecture and interior design. This also led me to designing porcelain and I later opened up a gallery for art and design, selling my own designed collection, together with accessories for the table. This resulted in a book I wrote, in the German language, about using color harmony to create expressive table decorations and showing how to use color in rooms. During this time I also worked as a color advisor.
During my training as a color consultant, I was fortunate in also being able to train with one of German´s most famous color psychologist, Dr. Heinrich Frieling. He had developed a psychological test “the color mirror”, which has also been translated into English. I had always been most interested in psychology and this brought me to many parts of the world. I spent time at the Esalen Institute in the U.S.A, participating in various workshops based on psychology. This followed a visit to Findhorn in Scotland, and I also trained in various forms of psychology at the German Institute, Zist. In addition, I spent many months in an ashram, in India, where I was able to learn much about color, light and healing.
With my profession as a color advisor and my interest in psychology, I have managed to bring two themes together that still never cease to fascinate me. During these years I also discovered another talent I have, which is teaching. I have been training people in the various themes of color for the past 10 years. It is always great to experience the joy people feel when working with colors and how much they are inspired by this theme.
